Watched Slumdog millionaire last night.
I won't say it was an excellent movie, but it is definitely worth a watch. Its not an unpredictable story; but the way it is told, through past narratives from Jamal's life and travelogues charting north India and Mumbai, Slumdog becomes a fable of hardship and success. (very cheesy!)
The acting was good, the direction was little short of excellent, the music was remarkable.
Overall a good movie and the awards are well deserved.

Back to the grind
Back in Chennai, after a long stay in Delhi (with pauses of sadness in form of ill-health).
Spent five days in Nagapattinam, which is a Tsunami hit district in Tamil Nadu. We were covering stories there, like post Tsunami rehabilitation, NGOs, Self help groups, and education.
Was a good experience, but nothing like eye-opening or path-breaking!
